It was outlined that Apple will redesign the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro. With a larger trackpad equipped, the device will look more like a laptop. Today, Gurman revealed more information about the redesign of this accessory in the latest issue of the "Power On" newsletter. It is reported that the area around the keyboard will be made of aluminum to provide a more solid structure, similar to the A-side shell of a MacBook. Apple hopes that these changes will make the iPad Pro look even more like a laptop.
The keyboard shell will still retain the silicone material currently in use, and there will be only one USB-C interface. Gurman believes that the use of higher-quality materials may lead Apple to increase the price of this accessory to $299.
The redesigned Magic Keyboard is expected to be launched together with the next-generation iPad Pro models. Gurman said that the new tablet will bring "fundamental changes" and it is the first major update of the product since 2018. It will use the M3 chip, an OLED display, and its size will be slightly increased to 11 inches and 13 inches.
